In a neighborhood on the outskirts of Baghdad, another house is discreetly blown to bits. As the dust settles, I, a Mustached Warbler, attempt to survey the damage.
I alight on a piece of broken concrete, where I quickly find and eat a dizzied fly. I depart as my search continues for other forgotten birds of this region.
